Description

Considering the recent "Grumman Iron Works" topic on HyperScale's Theme Pics Forum, I took a short drive ( 25 min. ) out to the old Grumman Plant in Calverton New York, USA .

This was the Final Assembly and First Flight complex for the F-14's, A6E's, EA6B's, EF-111's and Test / Chase Aircraft.

The F-14A was put up about 5 years ago and the A-6E is new this spring.

The Memorial is small but pretty nice and has a few plaques giving the history of Grumman and it's famous aircraft company.

Some of the guys might want to see some of them.
