Description

A friend sent along these photos of the first Lockheed/Martin F/A-22 Raptor on it's delivery flight from Marietta, GA to Langley AFB in Hampton, VA, flying with a Boeing (formerly McDonnell Douglas) F-15E Strike Eagle.

The fort in the photos is historic old Fort Monroe in Newport News, VA, across Hampton Roads from Norfolk, near where the Civil War ironclads "Monitor" and "Merrimac" (renamed "Virginia" by the Confederates) duked it out back on March 8-9, 1862.
