On 15 October 2011, Henry Tremblay of Brookhurst Hobbies hosted a "Meet and Greet" and book signing for the new ADH Publishing book, "How to Build Tamiya's 1:32 scale P-51D Mustang" at his store in Garden Grove, California.
The three model contributors to the book, Mark Glidden, Roy Sutherland and myself, were at Brookhurst Hobbies for the afternoon.
My wife, my son and I arrived at LAX at 9:45am on the warm Saturday morning after our 14 hour flight, leaving us enough time to negotiate Customs, wait an hour for our bags, rendezvous with Roy at the airport (who had flown in from San Francisco a earlier the same morning), pick up a rental car, get used to driving on the other side of the road (Roy was stoic in the passenger seat, barely flinching), drive to Orange County and grab a quick lunch before arriving at Brookhurst Hobbies around 2:30pm.
Roy Sutherland (left) offering some constructive criticism on Chuck Wojtkiewicz (right) Kubelwagen. Chuck may be better known to HyperScale visitors as the talented chukw from the Plastic Pics Forum.
It was a pleasure to meet many of HyperScale visitors from Southern California, and to catch up with a number of old friends.
Mike Rinaldi (right), armour modeller extraordinaire!
Also in attendance was Ed "Doc" Pepping, a veteran of Easy Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne, the famous "Band of Brothers".
It was an privilege and a pleasure to meet Ed in person, but I was even happier that my eleven-year-old son Sebastian had the opportunity to chat with him at length.

Mark, Roy and myself had a great time meeting everyone the Bookhurst Hobbies event. We woud like to thank to all those who attended, and especially Henry for hosting the event.
Thanks to my wife Debbie for taking the photos too!
