Description

Here are 12 images of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster and Spitfire taken on Sunday 15th June from Liverpool's Pier Head, overlooking the river Mersey.

The cranes in two of these pictures are part of Cammell Lairds ship builders, in Birkenhead (which is 'over the water' as we say in Liverpool).

The building with the tower in the title photo is Birkenhead Town Hall.

The BoBMF staged flypasts on both the 14th and 15th as part of the Mersey River Festival, which is an annual event.

Pictures were taken with my old Canon AE1 Program, using 400ASA film and a Sigma 200mm zoom lens. Exposure was 1000th second, hence the 'frozen' prop blades.

The prints were scanned on my Lexmark X75 document centre, at 300dpi
