Description

Here are some photos of the Messerschmitt Bf 110 F on display at the Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin.

Please note that although this aircraft displays most of the characteristics of a Bf 110 F (including the large DF loop and blind landing radar under the fuselage, the early-style rear canopy, machine-gun nose and small vertical stabilisers), it is fitted with Bf 110 G cowls. The later style cowls are indicated by the triangular inspection windows and the small scoops on the front of the cowls.

Type: Messerschmitt Bf 110 F-2
Marking: LN+NR
Squadron: 13. ZG/JG.5 Finland (so called "Dackelstaffel")
Status: damaged during attack on Russian railway – emergency-landing on frozen lake
Pilot: Helmut Ziegenhagen
